Who is Bart Nederhand
My name is Bart Nederhand: an Eindhovener in heart and soul. At the age of 15 I started playing drums. Four weeks after I started, I already had a performance during a school party and the flame hit the pan right away! That was the moment I knew that drumming is simply the coolest thing there is.
I continued to practice like crazy and played in all kinds of bands until I founded Peter Pan Speedrock when I was 18, together with the bass player and the guitar player.
30 years of success
For a remarkable thirty years, we have performed all around the world, released approximately ten studio albums, sold 100,000 CDs and records, and delivered over 2400 shows.
For a decade, we organized Speedfest: an annual festival that attracted at least 6000 visitors per edition. In extension, we also organized Klokrock Orange for five years, a popular festival on King's Day that drew around 10,000 attendees.
Currently, I am also part of Speedmobile along with bassist Bart Geevers (Peter Pan Speedrock) and guitarist-singer Jeroen Haamers (Batmobile). Occasionally, I fill in for country singer Bob Wayne.
Awards
- In 2002 and in 2008 I received a 'Devil'. This is an award for the best NL drummer.
- In 2003 we won the Silver Harp in the 'Up-and-coming talent' category with Peter Pan Speedrock.
- In 2005 the band received the 'Zilveren Tulp': an award for the positive news coverage of the city of Eindhoven and the region.
- In 2016 we received the Friendship Medal from the city of Eindhoven: an award for people who have made a significant contribution to the city of Eindhoven.
Throughout the band's great success I have always continued giving drum lessons. It gives me a lot of energy and it is always nice to pass on the intricacies of drumming.
I am very proud to be endorsed by the legendary Ludwig drums, Sabian cymbals and Vic Firth drumsticks.
